Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL) are a nutritious and sustainable treat for chickens, ducks, and other small pets like lizards and turtles. Rich in protein and calcium, these live larvae provide essential nutrients while encouraging natural foraging behavior.

Our small BSFL are ideal for younger birds, bantams, and small pets, and are shipped fresh to ensure maximum quality and nutritional value.

Buying small larvae enables you to grow out your BSFL, ensuring that your pet has access to live, nutritious feed over a longer period of time.  It may seem a little more expensive than the large, but you are getting more larvae per gram and the ability to grow them out over time.

Our larvae are raised on fruit and vegetables collected from the farm gate that can't be sold or donated. They are farmed in a dedicated facility with environmental and other controls to ensure premium quality standards are maintained at all times.

Live BSFL are packed in clean bran and breathable calico bags to maintain good animal welfare during transit. We ship express post early in the week to ensure your larvae arrive in the best condition possible.  Pick up is available from Nuriootpa, South Australia.

Typical Analysis (dry matter basis):

  • Protein - 40 %
  • Lipids (Fatty Acids) - 25 %
